Album Near Completion

How to revise a finished piece

I am glad that my latest album is near completion.

Album Near Completion

So far I have 13 of 14 tracks completely written, recorded, and mixed.

There is one track that is almost finished. The issue is that I haven’t had much access to my full production rig. My mother-in-law passed recently and we have decided to take her cat (we already have two cats, so we’re seasoned cat parents). However, since she is a very aggressive cat and we are socializing her slowly (and as best we can), she is kept separately in the room with all my music gear. Luckily she tolerated a 3-hour composing session in the room on Saturday, so I’m heartened by that. I’m optimistic I can finish that final track within 1 to 2 weeks.

So, what comes next?

I will then have to master the tracks and find a channel or channels to host it. I’m exploring the idea of using Bandcamp, as I haven’t used it before and it is quite popular for indie releases.

For now, here is a sneak peek to the album, a (finished) percussion piece called “For David” in honor of my mentor Dr. David Macbride.
