If you’re a composer, sound artist, videomaker, or otherwise an audio or video artist, please consider this call for entries. The original deadline was (if I remember correctly) August 1st, but it has been extended to October 1st, 2012. Basically:
60 music/sound pieces of 60 seconds in length each will be both intentionally and randomly paired with 60 video pieces also of 60 seconds in length. The different pairings will be presented both online and throughout New England (USA). This call for submissions is only open to residents of New England, USA, though (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and CT residents). This is curated by audio/video masters Ken Steen and Gene Gort. For the full call and submission guidelines, please visit the project website: http://www.nmnmne.org/what_if_call2.html.
This is the second 60×60 project that NMNMNE has produced. I participated in the first 60×60 project and also submitted works for this second installment, because seeing the first project in its realized form (when the audio and video were paired and presented at different venues) was a blast to experience. It was also fun to create these miniatures and have them as part of my catalog of works. This is a great project that doesn’t require you to create massive amounts of material, so I highly encourage any artist living in New England to participate in this.
